Wedding attire revealed for Princes William and Harry

In less than 24 hours royal watchers around the world will finally see Kate Middleton's wedding dress. But for now, Clarence House has tossed a nugget their way, spilling the beans on what bridegroom Prince William and his best man, Prince Harry, will wear for Friday's historic nuptials.

In a statement issued Thursday by Clarence House, full details about Prince Williams' wedding day attire were made public.

The 28-year-old prince has chosen to wear the uniform of Colonel of the Irish Guards with a Forage Cap.

The pick reflects William's active service in all three Armed Services, including The Household Cavalry Regiment and the Rescue Force of the Royal Air Force.

The regal attire also acknowledges William's senior honorary appointment in the Army.

The dashing wedding duds were fitted by Kashket and Partners, the London firm which specializes in military and ceremonial uniforms.

William's Forage Cap bears the insignia of the Irish Guards, the eight-pointed Star of the Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick.

His Forage Cap also features the Regiment's motto ‘Quis Separabit?' (‘Who shall separate us?').

William's tunic, coloured in Guard's Red, features the Irish Guards' distinctive arrangement of buttons in groups of four.

The buttons feature the Harp of Ireland surmounted by the Crown Imperial. Their arrangement on William's uniform also denotes the Irish Guards' position in the Order of Battle as the Fourth Regiment of Foot Guards.

As befitting the day's pomp and circumstance, William will wear a gold and crimson sash as well as gold sword slings, both of which are worn in the presence of a member of the royal family.

Middleton's bridegroom will not wear a sword at the altar. But the future king of England will gleam none-the-less with his Garter Sash, the wings of the Royal Air Force, the Garter Star and the Golden Jubilee Medal.

Best man Harry, 26, should look just as dashing inside Westminster Abbey.

According to Clarence House, Prince Harry will wear a Blues and Royals officer's uniform in Dismounted Review Order with a Forage Cap.

Harry's Forage Cap carries the badge of the Blues and Royals, which features the insignia of the Most Noble Order of the Garter with The Queen's cipher.

The "spare" to Britain's throne will bring no sword into the cathedral. But Prince Harry will wear aiguillettes, a cross-belt and gold waist belt with sword slings.

For a final gleaming touch, Wills' best man will wear the Wings of the Army Air Corps for these historic nuptials, as well as Golden Jubilee and Afghanistan Campaign medals.
